Nora Vasconcellos is currently the barometer of what is cool in women’s skateboarding. Like many kids from her generation, Nora got the skateboarding spark by watching Reggie Rocket from the cartoon show Rocket Power. Originally from Pembroke, Massachusetts, Nora now resides in sunny Encinitas, California, where she can skate and surf as much as her heart desires. After making history by becoming the first female signed on the adidas Skateboarding program, Nora catapulted herself into the spotlight by winning the 2017 Vans Park Series World Championships while simultaneously going pro for Welcome Skateboards and adidas. Add in her outgoing personality with witty social media posts, and you have one of the most marketable ladies in the game. With a focus on female growth in the sport, Nora stays busy with events, contests, and tours that promote more participation from women that eventually become her biggest fans. When Nora isn’t out changing the landscape of women’s skateboarding, she likes to hang out with her cat, sing karaoke, and create art which has been featured in exhibitions around the world.
