Maurio McCoy

Growing up in Reading, Pennsylvania, Maurio (pronounced Mah-Dee-Oh) McCoy was his older brother’s shadow until the fateful day he stepped on a skateboard at age four. While growing into a full-blown skateboarder, Maurio developed a style that pays homage to his African and Italian heritage. His lines flow like a New Orleans jazz musician, with a trick selection and presence as tasteful and refreshing as a bottle of Tuscan wine. Shortly after joining the Santa Cruz roster in 2016, Maurio went on a tear in the contest world, winning three Damn Am stops in a calendar year, along with podium finishes at other top tier events. This led to him turning pro in 2020 and the ripping doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. When Maurio isn’t skating, he enjoys cycling, detailing cars, and watching his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. GO BIRDS!
